For those unaware, the FIFA 22 Global Series Playoffs is the highest level of competition of FIFA, but also differs from other tournaments such as the eChampions League. Instead, players are seeded through the Global Series Rankings and also through the Partner Leagues across the world.

Bearing this in mind, the best of the best, whether they’re representing an esports organization, football club or are simply alone, will be competing for the $500,000 prize pool on the line.

Furthermore, all players will be headed to the London offline venue, competing on the Playstation 5 version of the title. Overall a total of 128 players have been invited, with the competition running from 1st July all the way until 3rd July.

Read on as we dive deeper into the format of the event.

Accordingly, the format involves multipe stages of competition as EA Games tries to crown a victor amongst the 128 participants.

Starting with the Group Stage, the 128 players will fight throuhg a Swiss Round format. Through this simple format, where players need two wins to progress, the competition will be halfed to 64 players.

Once halved, the 64 players will split into 4 groups of 16 players each. Within each group, a double elimination bracket will take place as teams fight for the 8 spots in each group available for the FIFAe World Cup 2022.

Accordingly this will confirm the 32 seeds for the largest event of the year. Accordingly isn’t so much about winning as it is placing in the top 32 to earn a coveted spot to one of the top events of the year – occurring later on in the month.
