Accordingly, ever since February, tonnes of competitors have fought through the gauntlet of the eChampions League 2022.

Mimicking the traditional football competition, this FIFA 22 version also allows competitors from all over the world to compete, representing various esports organizations.

And now, it all boils down to the final weekend of competition. Indeed, EA Games is organizing the competition offline in the heart of Stockholm, on the PS5 version of FIFA 22. Taking place on 27th May, take a look at the list of competitors below:

  • Predator
  • Tekkz
  • nicolas99fc
  • Umut
  • Matias
  • Snakez
  • Denii_10
  • Roee Feldman

Indeed, the prize pool of $225,000 is what’s to play for between the very best FIFA 22 players in the world.

Format

In terms of format, the event doesn’t try to reinvent a classic format.

Based on the Knockout Stage performances, the final 8 players have been seeded into the Double Elimination bracket – 4 in the Semifinals and 4 in the Losers’ Round 1.

For those unaware, competitors in the Winners’ Bracket will be sent to the Losers’ Bracket should they lose. However, those already in the Losers’ Bracket who lose, will be sent packing and eliminated from the competition.

Bearing this in mind, here are the first matches acting as the early round of competition below:

Semifinals

  • Predator vs Tekkz
  • nicolas99fc vs Umut

Losers’ Round 1

  • Roee Feldman vs Denii_10
  • Snakez vs Matias

By the end of the day, May 27th, we’ll have a new eChampions League winner!

Predictions

Considering that teams made it here following performances at the Knockout Stage, let’s quickly look at those to understand how the competition stacks up:

  • 1-4th – Predator, Tekkz, nicolas99fc, Umut
  • 5-8th – Roee Feldman, Denii_10, Snakez, Matias

Out of all these names, there is certainly one favourite. Specifically, Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt is one to look out for after winning the eChampions League 2020 two years ago. Notably, no competitors are returning from last year’s competition – making him the current defending champion.

However, the competition has changed since then and it’s a brand new game. Heading into this event, we’d like to favour any of the top 4 competitors from the Knockout Stage – they’re in the best spot in the bracket thanks to their earlier performances.
