This next week we’ll be seeing the next phase of the BLAST Premier event as the Spring Finals 2021 take place. Here’s everything you need to know about the event, and how to watch it!

Tournament’s background

The Blast Premier Spring Finals is the final stage of the Spring Season for BLAST. Back in February, the Spring Groups took place, and here we saw BIG, Na’Vi, Complexity, NiP, EG, and FaZe Clan pass through. Just recently, the Spring Showdown played out, and this event resulted in G2 and Gambit passing through as well. Now the final 8 teams will battle it all out for the prize money and glory.

How to qualify for the main event

For the majority of the teams participating in this event, they’ve qualified through the Spring Groupstage earlier this year. However two other teams were given the opportunity to climb through the Spring Showdown event held in April. Now we are in the Final stage.

Prize distribution

There will be a total of $425,000 to be split between the top 8 teams. Here is a list of how the prize pool will be spread:

  • 1st – $225,000
  • 2nd – $80,000
  • 3rd – $40,000
  • 4th – $25,000
  • 5th-6th – $15,000
  • 7th-8th – $10,500

The tournament format for this event is pretty simple. It all starts off with the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals and slowly works its way up the bracket through double-elimination. During this tournament, matches are best of 3, including the Grand Finals.

Predictions

Heading into the event, it is without question that G2, NiP and Gambit have the highest chances of winning. They’ve recently all been successful in the last few events, and if they keep their consistency up, they can certainly seal the deal. On the other hand, we’ve Evil Geniuses which just recently lost Zews as their coach, and FaZe Clan, parting ways with Coldzera. It’s going to be interesting to see which team takes the cake, but until then, be sure to tune into the event and watch the amazing games!
