Dota2

17 May 2021

Tournament organizer WePlay Esports has just announced that they are hosting the next Dota 2 Major, the AniMajor. Here’s everything you need to know.

WePlay Esports hosting AniMajor – Event Details

Similar to the usual format of Dota 2 Majors, the AniMajor will feature 18 of the best teams around the world. This Major will take place in the capital city of Ukraine, Kyiv. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, the government of Kyiv disallowed any public gatherings and therefore, the tournament will not be open to any spectators during the event. It’s great to see that even after a year of this tragic situation, event organizers are still prioritizing the health and safety of their players and staff.

Schedule

As stated in their official statement, the event will take place between the 2nd and 13th of June 2021. This will be the next event just after the Dota 2 leagues conclude.

Prize Pool

The prize pool for this major is $500,000, the exact same amount that the ONE Esports Singapore major had earlier this year. With regards to Dota Pro Circuit points, this major will consist of 2,700 points in total. These are to be spread out between a couple of the top placers at the event.

This is going to be the final opportunity for these top teams to acquire solid points to reach top 12 of the DPC (Dota Pro Circuit) standings. As you may know, only 12 teams are able to take part in The International 10 later this year. So it is vitally important for these teams to perform to the best of their abilities at the AniMajor.
