Team Queso win RLCS X Spring Europe Regional Event 2 – How did they do it?

Queso started it all in Group C, after getting 3 wins and just a single loss, they placed in 2nd, just under Dignitas. This result got them a qualification to the knockout gauntlet where they had to take on Team Liquid. Unfortunately for Queso, they were dropped down to the losers bracket after a 3-0 loss. Here they came against TrainHard eSport which gave Queso no challenge as they beat them 3-0 to qualify to the playoffs.

Their first opponent in the playoffs was Rix.GG. Team Queso got 2 game wins off the bat, Rix won the third, but it was total domination from the Spanish squad after that. Then, they took on Top Blokes in the Semifinals, and Team Queso won 4-1 to get into the Grand Finals.

Grand Finals

In the Grand Finals they matched up against the newly formed Solary roster (former Oxygen Esports). Queso started it out strong, getting 2 initial wins in the series. Solary replied back with 3 back-to-back game wins and reached match point. After that, Queso presented an incredible performance as they won the following games 5-0 and 5-1.

Concluding Thoughts

All in all, the RLCS X Spring Europe Regional Event 2 was a blast to watch. Team Queso, one of the more unknown teams in the European Rocket League scene have proven that they have what it takes to be the region’s best. We can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us in 2021!
