With the weekend coming to a close we saw Sentinels grabbing a win at the VCT (VALORANT Champions Tour) Stage 1 Challengers 1 in North America. This is how they did it:

Finals Standings + Winnings:

  • 1st – $20,000 – Sentinels
  • 2nd – $10,000 – Immortals
  • 3rd – $7,000 – Luminosity
  • 4th – $5,000 – XSET
  • 5th-6th – $3,000 – Team Envy
  • 5th-6th – $3,000 – Gen.G
  • 7th-8th – $1,000 – NRG
  • 7th-8th – $1,000 – Andbox

Sentinels win VCT Stage 1 Challengers 1 – How?

The Sentinels kicked off the event with a very disappointing loss in the upper bracket quarterfinals versus Luminosity. With this loss, the team was dropped down into the losers bracket, where they took on Andbox and won the series 2-0. Gen.G were up next, and the series eventually favoured the Sentinels side with a 2-1 scoreline.

In the 3rd round of the lower bracket, Sentinels were against XSET, one of the strongest up and coming teams. Unfortunately for them, the Sentinels were stronger, and ended up winning the series 2-0 to advance to the lower bracket final versus Luminosity. Here, the Sentinels rematched the team that dropped them down to the lower bracket, and got their revenge. After a long and close series, Sentinels won 2-1 and got a spot in the Grand Finals.

Grand Finals

In the Finals they took on Immortals, a team which wasn’t expected to even reach the semi finals. Nonetheless, they have proven everyone wrong to get into the Finals versus Sentinels. Although, getting into the finals was the best achievement they could get. This is because of their disappointing performance over the course of 3 maps. The Sentinels won the series with a clean 3-0 to win the VCT Stage 1 Challengers 1.

What’s next?

Sentinels have been one of North America’s top 4 teams, and this win only proves the fact that they just might be some of the most talented players in the world. Now what’s next is for them to triumph in the Stage 1 Challengers 2 event. The top 4 teams at the Challengers 1 event have all received a spot for Challengers 2, which will take place next week.
