Riot Hosting 2020 World Championship in September!

The 2020 World Championship is the largest competitive LoL event of the year. Hence, many had worries that the event would be cancelled or delayed indefinitely. However, a recent press release from Riot Games changes everything. Read on for more details!

Indeed, the event is set to take place on September 25th. Not only this, but efforts will be made for a LAN environment in Shanghai. View the following video for the complete update:

Concluding on October 31st, the 2020 World Championship will only consist of one change. For everyone’s safety, Finals are taking place at the newly finished Pudong Soccer Stadium.

Bearing this in mind, an effort is being made to enhance the digital broadcast experience. Earlier stages of the 2020 Worlds are to play out online.

Also, Riot Games have promised that Worlds is planning for 2021 and 2022. Respectively, future venues are China and North America. The community is over the moon over the announcement!
