Immortals have just announced that they are making some changes to its management and coaching staff after a very disappointing start to the Summer Split. They have stated that they have released their General Manager “Keaton Cryer” and LCS Head Coach Thomas “Zaboutine” Si-Hassen. Here is their statement:
Immortals ended the Spring Split in 8th place with an 8-10 W/L, placing just above Team Liquid after their disastrous start to the 2020 season. After this result, the management team knew they had to make some sort of change in order to not replicate what happened in the Spring Split.
Immortals’ management decided to transfer their main jungler, Jake “Xmithie” Pucher and support, Nickolas “Hakuho” Surgent to their academy team, and bring in Nicholas “Potluck” Pollock to the jungle, and Austin “Gate” Yu to the support role. Here is the video Immortals released to announce the changes:
The changes that they made to their roster were definitely unexpected as Xmithie and Hakuho were 2 of the best and most experienced players they had. Nonetheless they went with the change and proceeded to start the summer split with the adjustments made to the Immortals squad.
Immortals are currently 0-4 in the Summer Split and it doesn’t seem like they’ll be climbing the ranks of the group stage any time soon.
Keaton in his statement has said that he will be looking forward to taking an indefinite break which will be used to focus on his mental health and to strengthen his relationship with his fiancee which he hasn’t seen in months.
Immortals are looking like a very big mess right now, but one can only hope that they eventually resolve their issues and after settling in with the adjustments made to the roster, start winning championships again.
