How To Watch: VCT Challengers 1 Stage 1 2021 – North America

With the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021 on the verge of starting, we have taken it upon ourselves to inform all of you on everything you need to know about the VCT Challengers 1 Stage 1 2021, and how to watch the event. Read on to know more:

Tournament’s background

This will be the first big VALORANT tournament this year. This is going to be the first of many challengers events throughout the year, and here we’ll see several regional events, marked as the main events for VALORANT.

How to qualify for the main event

All of the teams that will partake in this event have qualified through open qualifiers which were held in the last week of January.

VCT Challengers 1 Stage 1 2021 Format

The tournament format will follow a standard Double-Elimination bracket format. Every single match is set in a best of 3 game type, and the Grand Final will be in a best of 5.

Prize distribution

The North American event will have a total of $50,000 to be distributed between all teams. Important to note that the top 4 teams will be advancing to the Challengers 2 event, which will take place a few days after this tournament. This is how the prize money will be distributed:

  • 1st – $20,000
  • 2nd – $10,000
  • 3rd – $7,000
  • 4th – $5,000
  • 5th-6th – $3,000
  • 7th-8th – $1,000

A total of 8 teams are going to participate in the North American VCT Challengers 1 tournament in 2021. Here they are below:

VCT Challengers 1 Stage 1 2021 Schedule list

The tournament will take place between the 4th and 7th of February. Matches will start tonight with the following match-ups:

Upper Bracket Quarterfinals – 4th February 2021

  • 21:00 CET – Immortals vs XSET
  • 21:00 CET – NRG vs Gen.G
  • 23:30 CET – Team Envy vs Andbox
  • 23:30 CET – Sentinels vs Luminosity

Upper Bracket Semifinals – 5th February 2021

  • 21:00 CET – Immortals/XSET vs NRG/Gen.G
  • 23:30 CET – Team Envy/Andbox vs Sentinels/Luminosity

Upper Bracket Final – 6th February 2021 – 21:00 CET

Grand Final – 7th February 2021 – 21:00 CET
