Once again, after the Stage 2 Major, regional VALORANT competition is back! Accordingly, with many regions to enjoy, we’re focusing on the most popular – North America. Following OpTic Gaming’s international win, there’s a lot of buzz. Read on as we teach you How to Watch the VCT 2022 NA Stage 2 Challengers event!
Event Background
Indeed, for those unaware, the VALORANT Champions Tour is the highest level of esports competition for VALORANT. The Challengers events allow regions to offer up the very best teams to see for international events.
Organized by Riotr Games, another $200,000 are up for grabs for Stage 2. Accordingly, taking place online, we have the 12 best teams in North America, as listed below:
- The Guard
- OpTic Gaming
- Cloud9
- XSET
- NRG
- FaZe Clan
- TSM
- Luminosity Gaming
- 100 Thieves
- Evil Geniuses
- Ghost Gaming
- Sentinels
In terms of dates, the event looks to take place from 13th May all the way to 26th June.
Apart from the prize pool, the top 2 teams will earn a seed at the Stage 3 Masters event later on this year and earn essential VCT Circuit Points.
Format
With regards to forma,t Riot Games is sticking to previous event formats.
Kicking off with a Group Stage, a round robin will take place. Accordingly, each team faces one another once – making it 5 matches of BO3 games. However, from each group, only the top 4 will advance to the Playoffs. Here are the groups below:
- A: The Guard, XSET, NRG, TSM, 100 Thieves, Ghost Gaming
- B: OpTic Gaming, Cloud9, FaZe Clan, Luminosity Gaming, Evil Geniuses, Sentinels
Accordingly, the bottom 2 teams will be eliminated from the competition.
Making it to the Playoffs, here a final double elimination bracket will decide the tournament. For those unaware, double elimination means that teams have two chances – more than two losses resutls in elimination.
All matches in the double elimination bracket will be BO3, while the Losers’ Final and Grand Final are BO5. It’s in the grand final that we’ll have our international representatives and the champions from the region.

However, although The Guard placed first, they failed to have an impact at the Reykjavik Major. Instead, OpTic Gaming went forward to win the entire event to be crowned international champions.
