In its eleventh season, the 2020 Challenger Leagues for the competitive Rainbow Six: Siege are all underway except for Europe. Packing the eight best Rainbow Six: Siege in Europe onto maps consisting of corridors, windows and a hostage – the regular season for R6S Europe will be returning as soon as April 3rd and we’ve got all the details neatly stacked down here together with some of our predictions but above all – how to watch the Challenger League Season 11 – Europe!
Co-organized by both ESL and Ubisoft for PC, the Challenger League Minor looks to fulfil its namesake by throwing the light on lesser-known teams, or ‘Challengers’ against Pro League Relegation teams to figure out who’s actually on top. With these stakes on the line, the event is a notably exciting one, though this time around the eight teams will in fact, be competing online to prioritise the safety of physical viewers, competitors and the community in general. Nonetheless, this shouldn’t take much away from the competitive atmosphere as the European teams will all be competing for two spots in the Rainbow Six: Siege Pro League Season 12 coming up soon.
Do note that for this season, Season 11, no team will be relegated in the European region as the number of teams in the Pro League Season has been increased to 10, following the saddening cancellation of the Pro League S11 Finals which was certainly a blow to the community.
Besides the two qualification spots, the teams will be competing through the Minor to earn the majority of the $26,500 prize pool from the 3rd of April through to 1st May. Without further delay, here’s a look at the eight teams and their means of qualifying for the event either through the Challenger League S10, Pro League Relegation or the Qualifier:
Pro League Relegation:
- GiFu eSports
- PENTA
Challenger League S10
- OrgLess
- Team Secret
Qualifier
- CR4ZY (March 11th – CR4ZY acquired roster from MnM Gaming)
- GEKOLONISEERD
- IziDream
- Salamander
Schedule and Format
The format is relatively simple: for roughly a whole month, the eight teams will engage themselves across a Double Round Robin League, having the chance to compete against one another twice. Each match will be as long as a best-of-one allows. The teams will look to win as many maps as possible to tally up points to reach the first two spots to earn those Pro League Season 12 spots together with a little prize money.
It will be stated once again that the bottom two will not be relegated as opposed to previous changes due to team number changes for next season of the Rainbow Six: Siege Pro League.
With regards to schedule, the entire season will be played out on 7 days, one which each team can be expected to play up to twice in a single day against the same opponent – this adds up to 8 maps per gameday. Scattered on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 20th, 24th, 27th April and concluding on the 1st of May, the first two days are below to act as reference:

Predictions
In general, it’s not clear as to who will come out on top from this batch of lesser-known teams, though some are more likely to succeed than others.
Take IziDream for example: as one of the Qualifier teams, they fought to earn their spot, but not only that – they placed first by a gaping margin of 50 points to GEKOLONISEERD, with over a 100 more points clear of the fourth-place occupied by the current CR4ZY. Out of all of the Qualifiers, I’d keep a close eye on IziDream as they have the potential to take over the competition once again.
OrgLess, from last season, are also considerable threats. Coming off a win at the GSA Clash of Nations 2019 in January, they look to carry that steam forward into this event.
In general, I’d keep those two on your radar amongst these teams. Then again, it’s understood that the event is anybody’s to win, and with a month to settle the score it will boil down to the last day: it’s a marathon and not a sprint.
