The FIFA “Stay and Play Cup” is a is a knockout charity tournament held by EA Sports involving 20 of the most famous and historic clubs in Europe. In where real-life soccer players, each representing their European club teams.

EA Sports through FIFA 20, has been one of the video games publishers delivering messages to players to stay safe, stay at home, with this message: #STAYANDPLAY – “Stay home, Play together”. Now, some of the top football clubs in the world are letting their players show how they’re practicing what they preach while still getting to compete.

In addition, EA Sports will be donating US$1 million to the charity, while providing tournament viewers other ways to support the campaign.

Format

The tournament format follows the single-elimination best-of-one (BO1). After this phase, it will move to a playoffs (BO1) from the quarterfinals until the finals.

Each match will be a one leg 1v1 match with 85-rated squads (which means every player on the game has the same rate), with the winner advancing to the next round and the loser being knocked out of the tournament. In the event of a draw after 90 minutes, games will be decided by extra time and penalties.

Schedule

TheEA Sports FIFA “Stay and Play Cup” starts on April 15th at 9am PT/5pm UK/6pm CEST and will take place over five days, culminating in the final on April 19th.

Matches begin at 9am PT/5pm UK/6pm CEST time each day, and then broadcast live via the EA Sports Twitch TV Channel
