How to Watch Dota 2 Champions League 2021 Season 2 – teams, format, schedule, streams, predictions

While everyone’s talking about Tier S events such as The International, there are other events for Dota 2 on the way. Accordingly, the Dota 2 Champions League Season 2 is roughly a week away from kicking off. Although not as grand, we can guarantee an awesome level of competition to enjoy. Indeed, read on for all of the viewership details you need to enjoy the event!

As you can imagine, the fact that this is Season 2 means that this is the second iteration of this event. Namely, the aim of an event such as this one is to gather some of the lesser known and up and coming talents as they try and leave an impact on the scene.

Also, running from July 19th up to August 8th, the event is also a bit of a marathon for the 10 teams involved. With $50,000 on the line, the event organized by Epic Esports Events, Russian Esports and Federation aims to be an awesome one. Currently, the Open Qualifiers are underway. Until then, here are the following confirmed competitors:

As the Open Qualifier looks to conclude on July 17th, we’ll have our full list of competitors.

In the general scope of things, this is the second of five events planned for this series.

Format

In terms of format, it’s relatively simple but should lead to an awesome event. Classically, there’ll be two stages.

Starting things with the Group Stage, July 19th will witness a single round robin within a single group of 10 teams. Here, all matches played will be a best of three, where the top 8 will move on to the Playoffs and the other two who don’t make it will be eliminated.

Once the Group Stage concludes on 2nd August, the Playoffs kick off on August 4th. Accordingly, the 8 remaining teams will fight in a round-eliminaition bracket. Once here, matches will be BO3 while the Grand Final will be BO5.

Schedule for the Dota 2 Champions League 2021 Season 2

With regards to schedule, what is certain is that every day, the competition will kick of at 15:00 CEST for the Group Stage at least. Bear in mind the following dates:

  • Group Stage – 19th July – August 2nd
  • Playoffs – 4th August – 8th August

Do note that the first event had 20 teams, while this second one is focusing the competition down to 10.

In terms of predictions, from the teams announced so far, AS Monaco Gambit seem to be the favourites for this event, following a third place finish at the DPC 2021 CIS Upper Division Event.
