For the past few years, here at esportsguide we’ve proudly offered dedicated esports news coverage for multiple esports scenes. Indeed, we’re also constantly on the lookout for new and rising esports titles, prioritizing the most active esports scenes for our readers and viewers. Accordingly, read on for an esportsguide news update!

Esportsguide News Update – Introducing Garena Free Fire

It’s not a secret that mobile esports has been taking off, with key players such as Arena of Valor, and PUBG Mobile. This is exemplified by the PUBG Mobile Global Championship and its $2,000,000 prize pool!

And just like that, there’s a new esports scene on the block. We’d like to officially introduce Garena Free Fire – currently the second most popular battle royale on mobile behind PUBG Mobile. Since its debut in 2019, it’s popularity in Thailand and Brazil has resulted in over 500 million downloads as of February 2020.

Bearing this in mind, with the turn of 2021, Garena Free Fire will be an official featured esports scene here at esportsguide. We’re excited to hop on board this young and exciting scene!

Out With the Old – SMITE, HOTS and Smash

This year at esportsguide, we’ve introduced VALORANT too. With two new sites, we need to narrow our focus. For the sake of our readers, we’ll have to let go of some featured esports scenes. With how dynamic the industry is, esports may sometimes rise and fall slightly.

Without further delay, we will soon no longer be offering coverage for the following esports:

  • SMITE
  • Heroes of the Storm
  • Super Smash Bros

This does not mean that we are completely leaving the scenes behind. We will definitely keep track of how they develop and if it’s the right time, we’ll happily get back on board!
