ESL Pro League Season 11 Week 3 Standings and Predictions

News

2 Apr 2020

Nathan Bonello

We are currently in week 3 of ESL Pro League Season 11 in Europe and week 2 of EPL NA and the matches just keep getting better and better. In NA Pro League, we have Furia dominating with wins versus Liquid and MiBR, and Astralis, Na’Vi and OG seem to be the top 3 heavy hitters in the European Pro League.

Team Performance and Standings

The current standings as per group are as follows:

Group A

Astralis 4-1
Team Vitality 3-2
Ninjas In Pyjamas 3-2
Godsent 2-3
Team Spirit 2-3
Ence 1-4

Astralis have seemed like a strong team since the start, only losing to NiP early into the event, but eventually topping their group with a 4-1 score line and advancing to the 2nd stage of EPL Season 11.

Natus Vincere are 1st in group B even though both Fnatic and ForZe have an equal amount of points. This is because Na’Vi have beaten both ForZe and Fnatic in their total of 5 matches, so it was only fair that due to winning both head to head matches Na’Vi will advance forward to the 2nd stage directly.

OG are currently at the top of the leaderboard with 3 wins and 0 losses. They have had an outstanding performance all tournament long, beating teams like G2, and Mousesports which were presumably top 5 teams as of last week. They are expected to pass directly through to the 2nd stage, just like Astralis and Na’Vi.

Team Liquid are having a good performance, although they have let wins slide versus Swole Patrol, giving them their only win in NA EPL and versus Furia, leaving the brazilians undefeated. Now even though in regards to standings, Team Liquid is above Furia, it doesn’t mean that Liquid are the current best performing team in NA EPL, as Furia still have 2 more matches to play in order for them to complete the total of 4 matches.

Some good news for all the brazilian fans as MiBR managed to grab their first win in Pro League versus 100 Thieves. And even though the matches in that series were close, it shows that MiBR have gotten some structure again and might be a strong team heading into the following matches of NA EPL.

Schedule

These are the upcoming EPL S11 matches for the rest of this week for Group C and D.

Group C

Furia vs Swole Patrol
Evil Geniuses MiBR
Team Liquid vs Evil Geniuses
100 Thieves vs Furia
Swole Patrol vs MiBR

Group D

Virtus.Pro vs OG
FaZe Clan vs OG
Mousesports vs G2 esports
Virtus.Pro vs Tyloo

Predictions

In terms of predictions I personally think that MiBR will climb up the ranks bit by bit versus the rest of the North American teams. As for EU Pro League, it is likely Astralis, Natus Vincere and OG will continue dominating with the same rhythm all throughout the Pro League. The European OG roster has shown that it has got what it takes to win versus a majority of the top teams, the biggest question is, is this a case of online Counter-Strike affecting the performance of other teams or is this a case of OG being the better team currently?
