China’s LPL rebrands in time for the Summer Split

TJ Sports, the joint project between Riot Games and Tencent Holding have announced that the League of Legends Pro League, more commonly known as LPL will be rebranding and will have a more aggressive, brave and fearless look. Here below is their new logo:

The logo does seem like it was an upgrade from their previous logo, however, the rebrand (as per usual) brought with it some backlash. This is mainly because the new logo has similarities to Valve’s Dota 2 logo.

In company with the rebranding news, the LPL league is said to continue on the 5th of June with the Summer Split. The Spring Split was dominated by JD Gaming were by far the most dominating team in the LPL region during the Spring Split, however the big question still remains. Will they manage to take another title during Summer? Or will another team rise to take their place?
