G2 esports have opted to announce a new partnership with popular design company Adidas. Here is their announcement:
What does the partnership consist of?
In their partnership video, we can clearly see the main focus on the topic “What is G2?”. This is obviously meant to refer to how big G2 has grown since its early days. Last year in 2020, the organization received loads of nominations at the Esports Awards, and ended up winning Esports team of the year for their League of Legends team, and Personality of the year for CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez.
Team Vitality was first to partner with Adidas, as they first announced their collaboration back in 2017. Despite this, G2 achieving coalition with such a brand is not only a great achievement, but also a good example of what an Esports organization should aim to be.
G2 announce partnership with Adidas – Was that all?
No, fortunately for all you G2 esports fans, with the Adidas partnership, the European organization has opted to reveal its 2021 Pro Kit. A brand new, and fresh look for the G2 Army sounds just right after such an achievement.
HERE. WE. GO.
Our official G2 x adidas 2021 Pro Kit Jersey is available NOW!
G2’s successful 2020 has definitely rewarded them monumentally, however, we should definitely strap ourselves into what G2 has in store for us in 2021. With so many new additions made to several of their rosters, the organization is destined for success, and we cannot wait to witness their journey, bit by bit.

In their announcement video, you can clearly identify TSM’s newest League of Legends squad showcasing the new jersey. This new version of the TSM jersey is quite similar to the one they used at the 2020 World Championship. It follows the same placement of the logo and sponsors, but with a twist. With this jersey, TSM are going back to the iconic black layout, and with some strips of red on the neckline and sleeves. However, there is one notable change from their previous jersey to the new one. And that’s that the TSM logo is now crowned with 7 stars, to represent the amount of LCS titles the organization has won to date.
TSM reveal their 2021 jersey – Is that all the news?
With their new jersey, TSM have revealed their newest partnership with car manufacturer Cadillac. As stated in their partnership announcement, this will allow avid TSM and esports fans access to exclusive content on their part.

Senior Vice President of Sales for TSM, Ned Watkins, had this to say about the partnership:
“We are thrilled to be partnering with such an iconic global brand like Cadillac. Cadillac has a century-long history, a commitment to innovation, and worldwide recognition that aligns perfectly with TSM’s performance and excellence pillars.
It’s pretty exciting the new colors that TSM will be representing in up and coming events. Be sure to keep yourself updated on all the important esports news by tuning into www.esportsguide.com!

Surprising results
Heading into the 2021 season, we knew how much the LPL has changed, especially because of all the players that have left, or joined the league. Our first surprising result was Suning winning 2-0 versus Top Esports. After losing their main support, SwordArt, many thought that team was going to have a hard time this year. But the team has rebuilt its roster around SofM, and it’s looking like they’ve made the right choice.
Our 2nd surprising result was Invictus Gaming’s win over JD Gaming. After JDG’s great run in the 2020 World Championship, it would be very shocking to see them not in the top 3 by the end of the Spring Split. Them losing the opening match versus iG could be a long line of losses. But we’ll have to wait for the following weeks of the LPL to conclude that.
This season of League of Legends is going to be one hell of a ride, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for any esports news that we release on www.esportsguide.com!
Besides the competitive announcement for Worlds 2021, we also have news for in-game changes. Indeed, Riot Games has announced new champions coming to the Rift! All themed around Viego the Ruined King, it’s an incredibly exciting change we’ll cover below!
Everything was announced through a livestream on YouTube. Just like that, three more champions have been announced to join the confirmed jungler of Viego the Ruined King. Dive into the video for the entire scoop!
Accordingly, theories are trying to identify the roles of the remaining three. Consequently, as Viego the Ruined King is playing in the Jungle lane, the other lanes are likely targets.
Overall, the roles seem to be the following:
AD carry/marksman
‘Artillery mage’
AP-based top laner
All of this is based on Riot Games’ new separate IP – the Ruined King game. After VALORANT last year, it’s great to see Riot Games continuing to push the boundaries.

When will we see VALORANT characters in LeagueofLegends?Who knows, but it’s something I look forward to greatly. This collaboration could be the beginning to the tying in of Riot Games’ future projects.
Indeed, this new piece of content will definitely spice up the competition.
We’ve got some terribly exciting news for fans of competitive LeagueofLegends! Today, just a few hours ago, Riot Games let loose an announcement for this year. Specifically, the host city for the Worlds Finals 2021 is official – we’re headed to Shenzhen!
Without further a do, please dig in to the tweet which divulges everything:
Just like that, competitive League of Legends is returning to China for the Worlds Finals 2021.
This is literally all we know about the event so far, bearing in mind how far away it is.
Regardless, our expectations are as high as ever for the event. This year, Worlds 2020 was held offline in Shanghai and was a massive success. All of this was made possible thanks to the bubble created by Riot Games.

It’s likely that for 2021, we’ll still be in the same global situation, so that gives Riot Games a second chance to improve on the provided setting. Shenzhen is within the same country and should provide an incredible arena too – maybe this time, we’ll have a live crowd?
There’s so much competitive League of Legends to enjoy ahead of the event too. Currently, here at esportsguide, we’re covering the incoming Spring Split events for the regions which kick off soon.
We had previously seen other teams collaborating with car manufacturer BMW, as part of their “United In Rivalry” campaign. This was one of the biggest partnerships in esports, and has definitely influenced similar deals in the past.

It comes as no surprise that after Damwon’s incredible victory at the 2020 World Championship they got recognized by a big sponsor. With this big of a collaboration, changes had to be in order, especially in the way that DWG is represented. This is why they have opted to switch their name from Damwon Gaming to DWG KIA.
Damwon Gaming rebrand to DWG KIA – Community reaction
The rebrand got a lot of mixed feelings. Some genuinely liked the rebrand, whereas others didn’t. It’s never easy to switch over to a different look and please everyone. And unfortunately, it seems like that’s the case with this one.
New Logo
With the LCK shaking up their appearance, Damwon Gaming’s rebrand was inevitable. Whether you like it or not, this is how they’re going to look like ahead of the 2021 season. The biggest question is, despite their recent changes, on and off the Summoner’s rift, will the team be able to keep their performance as high as it was during Worlds?
Legendary Korean pro player Trick has announced that he is retiring from competitive League of Legends. Here is his announcement:
Bye progamer life maybe esports life was really fun and i had good experience i will miss lec, players, teammates, lck, fans i love you all u guys i hope u guys doing well <3
Trick retiring from League of Legends – Who is Trick?
25-year-old Kim “Trick” Gang-yun kicked off his LoL career with CJ Entus, back in 2014. He then transferred to Europe and represented G2 Esports between 2015-2017 as their main Jungler. Most recently, he has played for SK Gaming, but unfortunately, his stay was cut short after a disappointing 2020 season, finishing 9th in Spring, and 6th in the Summer Split.

Here are some of Trick’s best achievements with G2 Esports
2nd at Mid-Season Invitational 2017 – 21st May 2017 – $338,000
9th-11th at the 2017 World Championship – 13th October 2017 – $103,424
1st in EU LCS Summer 2017 – 3rd September 2017 – $95,360

What’s next for Trick?
In his announcement, Trick left out on what his next plans are for his future. Whether it be streaming full time, or heading into a more behind the scenes role in esports, we do not know. However, when he does announce his next stage in his career, we’ll be sure to notify you about it.

17-year-old Korean player Noh “Burdol” Tae-yoon has been playing League of Legends competitively since May of 2019. When he joined the SKT T1 Academy roster. With him on the roster, the team placed 2nd in the monthly LCK Academy series of August, and won the September event. Burdol then left the team back in November, and apparently has satisfied Gen.G as they are choosing him as a secondary Top laner for the 2021 LCK season. Gen.G have also added players in the Jungle and Middle role, while also signing Ggoong as new coach from Top Esports.

What’s next for Gen.G and Burdol?
Gen.G had a pretty decent 2020 season. They placed 2nd in the Spring Split, and 3rd in the Summer Split. They also had a good showing at the World Championship, where they reached the playoffs, but eventually fell to Europe’s G2 Esports. With a new season on the horizon, Gen.G are aiming for that number 1 spot in the LCK, and hopefully a better result in the 2021 World Championship.

The League Championship Series, commonly known by its acronym, the LCS, has decided to rebrand for the 2021 season. Here’s a peek at what it looks like:
This isn’t the first time that the LCS has undergone a rebrand. The LCS first changed its appearance in 2019, when the EU LCS transferred to the LEC. Obviously the LCS logo felt ancient in comparison to the new LEC. So its definitely a good showing from Riot, announcing a new look for their North American League.

With the rebrand, Riot have also made a separate youtube channel for future content to be uploaded to. This is their new youtube – https://www.youtube.com/LCS
Community reaction
As with every rebrand or change of logo, you cannot please everyone. That being said, it’s fair to say that to some it felt like a fresh and brand new look. Whereas to some, it felt like it was rushed, and doesn’t match with what the LCS represents.
We’ve seen multiple rebrands from other League of Legends leagues. Most notably the LPL a few months ago, and LCK last week. It’s clear that Riot are making each and every league entitled to its own qualities, as if it was its very own entity. Hopefully this will create more rivalries within and in between leagues, and will help League of Legends esports grow further.
Our next competitive LeagueofLegendsseason on our radar is Europe. Accordingly, the LEC fell short last year at Worlds 2020, struggling to have a presence outside of group stage. However, things look to be stepping up with the start of the LEC 2021 Spring Season shortly. Read on for everything you need to know, especially How to Watch!
Event Background
Since the official rebrand to form the LEC, this is Europe’s third year of competitive League of Legends. Bearing this in mind, we’re in for an incredible Spring season of competition for this franchised league. Let’s take a look at the competition heading into this next Spring season:
Astralis
Excel Esports
FC Schalke 04
Fnatic
G2 Esports
MAD Lions
Misfits Gaming
Rogue
SK Gaming
Team Vitality

One new name is that of Astralis, following the rebrand of Origen. A name well known in scenes such as CS:GO looks to make an entrance into European League of Legends. Like last year, 10 teams will be back again and in a similar format.
Format
As foreshadowed above, the LEC 2021 Spring season looks to be similar to last year in terms of format. Unlike other leagues, matches in this league will consists of short BO1 match-ups.
Matches will follow a double round robin. Here, each team will match up against each other team twice throughout the season. This format, especially with BO1, will put a massive emphasis on playing flawless and being prepared for matches. Also, this format is ripe for surprises, as it only takes on map to upset a top team.

Last year, across both Spring and Summer seasons, the LEC was entirely unpredictable. At both times, leaders were constantly changing.
Heading into the LEC 2021 Spring, we’ll be looking at the top performers from Worlds 2020. Naturally, this means that at the top of our list lies G2 Esports. Managing to claim a 3-4 position at the event, they were on the cusp of greatness, though the competition was simply too strong. Granted, they’ll want to re-establish their dominance for another season of League of Legends.
Not far behind them are the likes of Fnatic, placing 5-8th and Rogue, closing out with a 13-16th. Similar to last year, expect these three to continue throwing jabs at one another and vying for the top spot. A new look for Rogue seems to be quite threatening, while the remainder of the competition is definitely hungry to have the best season possible. Here at esportsguide we simply cannot wait!
In our predictions, for a new season, with new rosters and a newly patched game, nobody can be counted out. With a slight meta shift, any team could rise to the top depending on how fast and hard a team is willing to work.
