Dota2

It has been revealed that boxi is taking leave from the Team Liquid Dota 2 roster. As a replacement, Team Liquid has brought on SumaiL. Here below is their statement:

Boxi taking leave from Team Liquid Dota 2 – Why?

As addressed in the above statement, the main reason for boxi’s temporary leave from the team and the game is so he can be with his family. Personal reasons aside, it’s no secret that Team Liquid’s recent performances haven’t been the best. At the ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 had quite a disappointing and unexpected early departure as they lost to Vici Gaming in the lower bracket playoffs. During that event, the team placed 9th-12th, definitely not the result they wanted.

Who will replace boxi?

As a replacement, Team Liquid have brought on Syed Sumail  “SumaiL” Hassan. For all of you who do not know SumaiL, he has quite a long history with Dota 2, mainly with Evil Geniuses. He started competing in Dota beginning of 2015 with EG and has had some pretty good results. Recently he’s represented OG but after just 6 months he parted ways. Now he’s looking to be the perfect replacement for Boxi till he can recover and return to competitive play. Here are some of his best achivements:

  • 1st at The International 2015 – 8th August 2015 – $6,634,661
  • 3rd in The International 2018 – 25th August 2018 – $2,680,879
  • 3rd at The International 2016 – 13th August 2016 – $2,180,898

  • Syed Sumail  “SumaiL” Hassan
  • Tommy “Taiga” Le
  • Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi
