All Valorant Professional Player Signings So Far

News

Since the release of the Valorant Closed Beta and we’re already seeing signings left, right and centre. Earlier in March we saw an announcement from T1 (Formerly SKT T1) signing Brax as a content creator and professional Valorant player. Brax is the first ever Pro Valorant player and alongside him is his very old teammate Keven “AZK” Larivière. Both of these players have a Counter-strike background and they were both part of the iBUYPOWER Scandal back in 2014.

Are T1 intending to sign the old iBP roster as their professional Valorant squad? I don’t think so. With Dazed hitting retirement, Steel performing well with his new CS:GO team Chaos and Skadoodle focusing on streaming, it is likely we won’t see the squad pairing up on Valorant. It is still a good tease from T1 to all the iBP fans, but I think they’ll be sticking with Brax and AZK for the time being.

Another roster signing worth mentioning is NiP’s very recent pickup. On the 8th of April, Ninjas In Pyjamas announced that they will be re-signing their old Paladins team as their very own Professional Valorant squad. They currently have 4 players and a coach signed, still looking out for a 5th member that could be a potential last puzzle piece to the team. Overall, the roster was pretty successful in Paladins. The team has had a pretty successful Paladins career, winning multiple events from 2017, all through 2019, including a couple of World Championships.

We usually never see any roster changes or signings when it comes to unreleased games, but it seems like Valorant has caught the attention of many and that is definitely not a bad sign. There are a lot of rumors about Professional players from other FPS titles switching over completely to focus on Valorant and its esport potential, even though it is currently in closed beta.

Valorant has definitely lived up to its hype, and even though many don’t see it as a “CS:GO Killer” it is still a very good FPS game and could definitely compete with Counter-Strike in the long run.
