A New look for League of Legends items

3 Sep 2020

Nathan Bonello

League of Legends’s season 10 is reaching its end and occasionally (usually with each season) Riot Games decides to update a few features. Whether it be how a champion looks, or updating certain item statistics. This time though, Riot will be introducing a new look for some League of Legends items. Some of them being: BF Sword, Bramble Vest and Rabadon’s Deathcap

Why are these items getting an updated look?

Updating a game, no matter how small, always keeps the game fresh and with a new feeling. Always something to learn and work around. Despite these changes only being visual changes, they are still necessary for the game to keep itself updated and fresh. Here below is a very clear comparison of the appearance of both BF swords (New & Old):

Community reactions

The new look for league of legends items, did not come without any backlash. Most of the active League of Legends players have fallen in love with the art style of the game, especially when it comes to items. So Riot changing how an item looks like will definitely not always have a positive impact.

When will the upgraded item icons be available?

At the time of writing, Riot’s plan for the update is to keep everything as is until the end of the season, and when the preseason arrives, they will release the new look for league of legends items as well as the rest of the changes altogether.

There are many changes coming to League of Legends heading into the preseason, so hang tight, and make sure you tune in to www.esportsguide.com for all your latest esports news!
