The StarCraft II World Championship Series (WCS) has three WCS Circuit stops in 2019.
WCS Fall is the last Circuit event of the three, organized by Starladder.
Format
First Group Stage:
The 64 qualified players are split up into 16 GSL-style groups of 4 players each. All Matches are Best-of-Three, with the top 2 players of each group advancing to the next stage. Players who lose in this stage drop to the first round of the knockout brackets.
Second Group Stage:
8 GSL-style groups of 4 players each. All Matches are Best-of-Three, with the top 2 players of each group advancing to the next stage. The players taking fourth place in this stage drop to the third round of the knockout brackets, and players taking third place to the fourth round.
Third Group Stage:
8 GSL-style groups of 4 players each (16 from the second group stage, 16 from qualifiers. All Matches are Best-of-Three with the top 2 players of each group advancing straight to the playoffs. The players taking fourth place in this stage drop to the fifth round of the knockout brackets, and players taking third place to the sixth round.
Knockout Brackets:
8 single elimination brackets consisting of 6 rounds each. Each bracket starts with two players who finished at fourth place in the first group stage and two players who took third place. All matches are Best-of-Three, except for round 6, which will be played as a Best-of-Five. The winner of each individual knockout bracket will advance to the playoffs bracket into the round of 24.
Playoffs:
Single-elimination bracket. All Matches are Best-of-Five, except for the finals, which are played in a Best-of-Seven.
