Valorant closed beta coming on the 7th of April

On the 30th of March, the Valorant dev team released a ton of details regarding the Valorant closed beta. Here’s everything you need to know about the closed beta, coming to you on the 7th of April.

Which regions will the Valorant closed beta be available to?

As stated by the team behind Valorant, the closed beta will be limited to players playing in the following regions: Europe, Canada, United States, Turkey, Russia, and CIS countries. Eventually they will be rolling out the closed beta to more regions, but they will have to be cautious due to the global pandemic.

How to get access?

If you are located in one of the above regions, follow the steps below.

Register for a Riot account

Link your Riot account to a Twitch account

To get whitelisted and be able to play Valorant make sure to watch specific Valorant closed beta streams highlighted on Twitch.

It is important to bear in mind that the amount of players invited will be based on their server capacity. So don’t feel too bad if you never receive an invite, as Summer is soon upon us, and so is Valorant’s full game release.

When does VALORANT closed beta start?

As announced by the developers, The Valorant closed beta will start on the 7th of April on PC. The live times are 2pm CEST / 5am PDT

Does player progress in the closed beta carry over to launch when the game is released?

No. The current gameplay state of Valorant, may be the version that they release in Summer, so it’s better for everyone to start at the same starting line in order for everyone to have equal chances to be the best.

How long will this Closed Beta last?

Riot have stated that they are still aiming for the game to launch in Summer of 2020 and they want to keep the closed beta as short as possible whilst they keep adding other regions online. They have also added that if they receive unexpected feedback they’ll re-evaluate the duration of the closed beta and possibly delay the full game launch by a few.

What happens to the Valorant Points that are purchased during the Closed Beta?

Once the game is fully released worldwide, the points that have been purchased during the closed beta will be given back with an additional 20% bonus as a token of appreciation for helping the dev team with their work-in-progress skins and store. They have also added that the current store pricing details are still in development and they have no idea of what will be available at launch.
