The CDL 2020 Dallas Online Preview – All the Details!

News

10 Apr 2020

Old admin

As we revealed in our last article pertaining to the Call of Duty League – it’s back, and it’s online, starting this weekend through the CDL Dallas Homestand Online event taking place this weekend from the 10th to the 12th of April. Read on to check out our concise preview for the return of the CDL!

The CDL Dallas Online event will be inviting the same eight teams who were supposed to compete two weeks ago prior to the change of format. Namely, they are the following:

  • Chicago Huntsmen
  • Dallas Empire
  • Florida Mutineers
  • LA Guerillas
  • Minnesota Rokkr
  • Paris Legion
  • Seattle Surge
  • Toronta Ultra

The format will be similar to the past few months of the Call of Duty League: as a double-elimination format (GSL) through Groups moving to Single Elimination in the bracket should sort out who’ll be walking away with the $100,000 at stake.

The schedule for the entire event is available here: https://cod-esports.gamepedia.com/Call_of_Duty_League/2020_Season/Week_5.

All series will be played out online through YouTube Gaming services and the official Call of Duty League channel viewable here in our own site:

Predictions

In all honesty, nobody knows what to expect this weekend. Yes, it’s clear that the top dogs of Chicago Huntsmen, Dallas Empire and Minnesota Rokkr will all be gunning for a win here: though with internet connection in the mix, many have predicted Dallas Empire taking the event despite weaker showings against Chicago on LAN.

Then there’s Minnesota, who many still pin as the giant-slayer of the league: being the only team in the league to successfully take down the top 2 at any time. At fifth, I’d expect Paris Legion and Florida Mutineers to battle it out as rosters who’ve shown an unrealized amount of potential: especially as Florida has brought ‘fero’ to the starting roster.

At the bottom: there are three teams who’ve all made very recent changes and don’t look too strong in terms of confidence. Expect Seattle Surge, Toronta Ultra and L.A Guerillas.

Everything’s changed: the competition is online from now on until July officially and everyone’s still adapting to it. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
