On the 26th of April, there was a match between Cyber TRAKTOR and Cyber Legacy in the WePlay! Pushka League Division 2. The result for the match ended with a 2-0 scoreline favoring Cyber Legacy, and this got the attention of some of the staff that were hosting the tournament. Weplay! had suspicions that some of the players were not playing competitively, and that they were intentionally throwing the match.
Three days later, the staff at WePlay! carefully examined the matches that took place and they concluded that Cyber TRAKTOR had a high chance of betting on the results of their matches versus Cyber Legacy. They are still currently investigating the situation and have declared that Cyber TRAKTOR are to be suspended from participating in the WePlay! Pushka League. Below is a direct statement from WePlay!
The staff have also added that they would like whoever is behind the management at Cyber TRAKTOR to do an investigation of their own, to try and gather more information on the situation.
Will match fixing ever end? Is there not enough discipline when it comes to sportsmanship and code of conduct? Unfortunately it seems like there is not enough strictness in esports as of right now, as we see, event after event, more match fixing and violation of rules and regulations.
